How HVA is different that the “gurus”

The AF program is so important today. This email Ken and I received from Mike Blatney shows our competition:

I was invited to dinner last night by a couple I had never met. They were told by a mutual friend that they should talk with me about their desires to be part-time real estate investors. As it turns out we should have had the meeting several months ago instead of last night. They are the nicest couple and I felt sorry for them. He is over the accounting department for a company and she works from the home. They have a daughter graduating from high school next year and they are looking for something they can do part time to help put her through college in the coming years. They decided to buy into one of the well known real estate guru seminars. The first one was free and the second cost them $500. The third and fourth…well they have paid in excess of $20,000 so far. He withdrew funds from his 401K and they ran their credit cards up as well.

 During dinner we all asked each other a lot of questions. $20,000 later it is obvious they still know very little about how this business works. I am going to help them do a deal. The problem is they are now short on cash. They were told to do many of things that would have worked 10-15 years ago but will not work today. They set up an LLC and bought a brand new computer because they were told/sold to. They have a catchy name on their new business cards. I tried to be positive but I could tell as they were taking notes that they were agonizing over my answers because they had been fed information that only led them to the next and more expensive seminar.

 I finally told them that I wished they had called me sooner because they could have bought a HomeVestors’ franchise for $12,000 which included training and a real live mentor right here in their market place.

 This couple is your typical customer for the AF program. The problem is the infomercials get to these people first. HomeVestors needs to compete with these gurus to grow the company and save people like this couple from being deceptively induced into throwing their money away.
